What material is best for making a painted wood surface into a cutting board and is easy to clean?
I have an inch-thick wooden board with some grooves in it that i've painted with some white rust-oleum (industrial grade). This surface is still fairly rough - what's the best material to cover the board with so that I can use it to cut vegetables on in my kitchen? It would also help if it were easy to clean. I'm looking for a LIQUID answer, by the way.
You don't. Any finish you put on will be eventually scored by the knife and you will be eating Rust-O-Leum. A wooden cutting board should be natural wood, and if desired you can treat it with mineral oil. Hope this helps.
