Schlage Link - The Keypad Lock With A Twist
Schlage's newest line of products, LINK, are going to change the residential lock industry. Imagine being able to control appliances in your home from your phone or computer as well as lock or unlock your doors at any time! Schlage's LINK allows you to do this. We're excited to be carrying this products because we believe the technology has the potential to change the way we look at home security and the convenience of it.
LINK products are keypad door locks with a wireless signal called Z-Wave that communicates with a "bridge" that is connected to the internet. The bridge is a controller that transmits and receives Z-Wave signals. You also get a receptacle that goes into a plug and you then can plug any appliance into it and control the power to it wirelessly. For example if you were out on the town you and you wanted some lights on so it looked like someone was at home you could simply turn them on or off at your pleasure. There are also other products that will work in conjunction with the LINK. Trane for example make a thermostat for your home that works with LINK. You just open the app on your phone or computer and you can turn your heater/AC on or off and even adjust the temperature; pretty cool stuff. There are Video cameras that you can get that connect and allow you to turn them on or off so you can check in on your home on the fly.
Other benefits of the system are text messages when people use the lock. You can set the lock to send your phone a message when the door is unlocked letting you know that someone got home safely. If your kid comes home late or skips school to stay home you will be notified and thats just a small example of the power that you will have. If you have Link products on a rental home you can change the password and even cancel one at anytime as long as you have cell service or the internet handy. If you have construction happening at a rental and something goes wrong just change the code and forget about it. There will be no keys floating around compromising your security.
