Power Protection- Device for Production of Electricity During Power Cuts
Power protection is a wide term used for the device meant for producing electricity during the power cuts and surges. This device is widely used at homes and offices and has become the lifeline of the electronic appliances.
Power protection- the features
This device has a battery pack through which the electricity is produced. DC current is produced through the batteries of the power protection device, which is later converted into AC current and is used for running the electronic appliances. You can run all the big and small electronic appliances through this device. The power protection device is also called uninterruptible power supply or UPS.
Types of power protection devices available in the market
This device is categorized into two main types, depending upon the functions of this device. The Standby power supply is exclusively used for domestic purposes, whereas the Line-Interactive power supply is meant to be used for office purposes.
Standby power supply
The standby power supply is a device generally used at homes. The battery pack of this device is attached to the parallel lines of the current supply and hence, a small time is required before the electricity is produced from this device and the power cuts. The device takes a while to recognize the power cuts and hence, the gap is produced. During this gap all the attached appliances close down completely and those appliances start which are in auto start mode. This gap makes the standby power supply useless for the office purposes.
Line-interactive power supply
This device is used at the offices. The only difference of the line-interactive power supply from the standby power supply is that in this case the battery pack is attached to the mains line. As a result the batteries remain ON always. During the power cuts the batteries start discharging and produce DC current, which is later turned to AC current to run the appliances. And while there is current supply the batteries charge. Hence, there is no gap produced in between the power cuts and power production. This feature makes the device best fit for office use. As the sudden closing down of computers due to power disconnect may lead to heavy loss of data and money.

How to get back the active desktop on a system which suddenly went off due to power cut?
Yesterday due to power failure and uncharged ups,my system suddenly went off.When i restarted the system,only the wallpaper was there and the desktop was gone.How to get back my active desktop.I am using WINDOWS XP as my OS.
2 ways- restart,keep pressing f8 to the advance screen menu scroll down to reboot and click it,{last known good config will work as well} second way to the safemode under the same menu use system restore back before the last restore point
