Home Safes: Security for You and Your Valuables
There are a lot of companies out there that manufacture home safes; let's take a look at who makes some of the most unbeatable products.
Browning is probably the first name that comes to mind when safe are mentioned, and for good reason. The internal working mechanisms of Browning safes are a step above what you'll find in most others; they include the finest locks, the most reliable and protective cam locking systems, and other innovative attack-resistant features to fortify against intrusion. Not only do they protect from theft, but from fire and fire damage, as well. As you move up in their line, you find the Platinum Plus Series and the Gold Series. These are the top in the market of home safes, no doubt about it. Browning safes are also designed to blend in just like a piece of furniture. You might not even notice that is is a gun safe, as a matter of fact. Your guns and heirlooms will be well protected in a Browning, whatever level.
Liberty is also a top of the line safe company; in fact, they're the #1 seller of full-size residential safes in the U.S. You can find Liberty safes under three brands- Liberty, National Security and Centurion. They are high quality, innovative products that offer superior fire protection, technologically advanced security, a large amount of storage, customizable to your needs, as well as an attractive exterior. Liberty was founded in 1988 and employs about 240 people in Payson, Utah. Liberty safe have multiple security features, including composite doors which provide more protection from fire and are harder to pry open. Internal hinges mean there's nothing for a thief to tamper with on the outside, and they provide extra resistance from prying or bending the door. An internal relocker will fire if the lock is tampered with, giving you an extra measure of security.
Rhino Safes is another big name to know; they are always innovating and improving their products to give you the greatest security possible. To prevent grinding and cutting attacks, which are become more and more frequent, they offer a variety of wall thicknesses. As tungsten carbide drill bits are readily available to thieves, Rhino has come up with a completely new design of locking system, which has received two U.S. patents and protects the contents of your safe more than hardened steel and ball bearing drill plate systems. They also feature a duolock relock system, 1" hardened steel locking bolts, seamless continuously welded body, and a solid plate steel, pry-proof door. Rhino is based in Caldwell, Idaho.
Stack-on safes is U.S. manufacturer based out of Illinois, and offer a wide range of safes from personal to security to premier. Their premier safes are fully convertible, have an attractive exterior, and are UL RSC, ETL, fire resistant and waterproof. To achieve the UL (Underwriters Laboratories) label on a product, it must meet or exceed the UL 72 testing standards, which may include a fire endurance test, a fire and impact test, an explosion hazard test or others. The RSC stands for Residential Security Container, and means that the product is able to withstand a full 5 minutes of rigorous attack by drilling, prying, punching, chiseling or other tampering. ETL Testing Laboratories has been in the product safety and reliability testing business since 1896. It tests products by almost 200 performance and safety standards. Stack-on's convertible home safes are one of the most convenient options you'll find. For example, the 40-Gun Safe can hold, as you might guess, 40 guns or 20 guns with additional storage, or be completely turned into all storage. They feature four way locking with 7 live action locking bolts, and 3 steel dead bolts. Their patented barrel rest standoffs keep most scoped rifles away from the back of the safe, and these standoffs can be attached to any Stack-on barrel rest, removed and attached again. There are pre-drilled mounting holes in the steel bottom to allow easy attachment to the floor, and they come with fastening hardware, as well.

blacksmithing anvil size?
Would a 20kg(44lb) anvil be heavy enough for a hobby blacksmith for making tools like punches chisels knife axe hammers? Obviously work would be slower than with a big anvil but at what point is there too little weight?
Yes, you are right, anvil sizes ARE rated by weight so really the surface area is a "function" of weight. The bigger (heavier) the anvil the more working surface area you will have.
And yes the heavier anvil you have, the more quickly and easily your work will progress.
But for such tools ask about, they are relatively small so that size will be fine, especially as a hobby, if you were to go "pro" you would want a bigger one, say, twice that size (100#)
