Drywall Tape Repair: How to Repair Bubbled Tape
Can fix the drywall tape in some cases be the most frustrating part of the hanging drywall. You will find that there are many things that can cause this and the many ways that can be repaired. Step 1 - remove the bubbles

What happens to your house if you don't use drywall tape?
I think the guys i hired to paint my house didnt use drywall tape on one of the walls or they did it wrong. What is the potential effect is there is no drywall tape on the ceiling and wall on one wall of the house.
The tape is used to bridged gaps in the sheet rock and also to give some rigidity to joints so they will not crack as easily. If the guys did not use tape, they should come back, strip out the mud, and redo all of the joints with either paper or mesh tape.
